Tyler Bertuzzi Faces Backlash For Gutless Action

Last night during the Bruins and Maple Leafs game a controversial play took place. Brad Marchand and Timothy Liljegren were in a puck race. Marchand once he was close to the puck stuck his leg out and slewfooted the young defenseman.

There was no penalty on the play and Timothy Liljegren was injured. This meant it was up to the Maple Leaf players to get their justice.

After the alleged slewfoot Brad Marchand came over to the Maple Leaf bench and began to taunt the other players. Many of the other players talked trash back and made sure to let Marchand know the gruesome act would not go unpunished.

Tyler Bertuzzi thought just sat back and laughed. As his teammates were defending one of their own he was in the corner of the bench smirking.

This left a bad taste in many Maple Leafs' fans mouths. Bertuzzi was supposed to be a team guy who sticks up for his teammates after another player does things like this.

Instead he just sat back and laughed. With his offensive struggles this season Bertuzzi is starting to run out of ways he impacts the team.

The Toronto media will likely ask Bertuzzi about his lack of seriousness and action during this game. It will be fascinating to hear his response.
