According to insider Chris Johnston, the Toronto Maple Leafs plan to send Knies to the AHL, to have more flexibility.
Hearing the #leafs will send Matthew Knies to the AHL Marlies in a paper transaction today to preserve some flexibility down the stretch, if needed.
Knies probably won't stay in the AHL very long. In fact, he probably won't even play a single game with the Marlies this season.
