Darren Dreger, TSN analyst has stated that all signs point to the Toronto Maple Leafs hiring former Blues coach Craig Berube after the firing of Sheldon Keefe.

Just a week after the firing of Sheldon Keefe who served the last six seasons as Leafs head coach, it seems like their pursuit for a new head coach is beginning to intensify with a decision to come very shortly.
We already knew that two front-runners were identified in the past few days: Todd McLellan and Craig Berube, two coaches that were let go by their teams, the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues earlier in the season.
Dreger stated that the Leafs have met with McLellan once already however they have met with Craig Berube twice now, which can indicate the commitment to the former Blues coach.
"dreger on tsn1050 says the leafs met with berube on saturday *and* parts of yesterday

with other teams seemingly pivoting to other options, and the leafs meeting with berube twice, really feels like treliving has his guy"
the Maple Leafs have interviewed Craig Berube for the next head coaching position with the team..

Hayes, Noodles and Jonas dive into Berube's coaching mindset and how he could be a fit for Toronto behind the bench.
