Max Domi could sign a contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs this summer and the possible numbers leaked.

In his first season with the Leafs, Domi showed that the Leafs could greatly benefit from signing long-term. In 78 games this season, he tallied 45 points, which isn't bad for a bottom-six player paid $3M a year.
Now that he proved his worth, he'll be ready to sign a multi-year contract this summer. In fact, the Leafs reporter James Mirtle believes he'll be looking for term over money. Here's what Mirtle revealed in a recent podcast episode:
"For a guy that's bounced around a lot, I'm almost certain what he's looking for is term," said Mirtle. "I don't think it's out of the question (staying in Toronto), I just think he's going to have to take less money to stay here. If I'm him, you're probably looking at four-by-four or something like that. I could see a world where something comes together, but it would have to be driven by him really wanting to be here and not just going for the most term and dollars he can get."

Four million a year for Domi seems a bit steep, however. We believe that Brad Treliving, the Leafs GM, won't be ready to pay that price. If he wants to sign for four years, it should be for something around 2.5 or 3 million a year.
Even if Domi currently plays on the Leafs' top line with Auston Matthews, he can be replaced. In the negotiations, if the player gets too greedy, it could push him out of the organization as many interesting free agents will be availble this summer to take his place.
However, the way he performs in the playoff should wigh in the balance.
Do you think Domi will sign an extension with the Leafs this summer?
