Auston Matthews has been one of the best players in the NHL since his debut in 2016, and now one stat has revealed just how good No. 34 truly is.

In the Maple Leafs latest outing, Auston Matthews would tally his 60th goal of the 2023-24 season, and while his production fell off from earlier in the season where he was on pace for 80+, he has still been the best in the league at putting the puck in the net.
If that isn't enough, a recent user on Reddit revealed another jaw dropping statistic, that further shows just how elite Matthews has been since arriving to the NHL in 2016.
That user revealed that Matthews leads the league in goals by players drafted since 2010, despite being drafted in 2016, overtaking players such as Stuart Skinner, David Pastrnak, Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon among others.
Matthews (2016) - 359g in 553gp, 0.65gpg
Skinner (2010) - 357g in 999gp, 0.36gpg
Seguin (2010) - 348g in 964gp, 0.36gpg
Pastrnak (2014) - 346g in 667gp, 0.52gpg
Draisaitl (2014) - 344g in 710gp, 0.48gpg
McDavid (2015) - 332g in 639gp, 0.52gpg
MacKinnon (2013) - 331g in 783gp, 0.42gpg
Kucherov (2011) - 318g in 716gp, 0.44gpg
Scheifele (2011) - 295g in 790gp, 0.37gpg
Zibanejad (2011) - 292g in 840gp, 0.35gpg
Despite being just 26-years of age, Matthews is on pace to become one of the top goal scorers of all-time, and if he can be blessed with the health and longevity of players like Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, we may be looking at a player that challenges the NHL's all-time goal scoring record in 10+ years from now.
