With a stacked group led by Auston Matthews, John Tavares, William Nylander, Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly, the Toronto Maple Leafs power play has been one of their biggest strength over the past few years.

A new leader?

After losing their power play coach to the Washington Capitals, it appears that Toronto now have a new coach running the show, as Guy Boucher was reportedly seen working closely with the group at camp recently.
However, that's not the biggest change, as one of their newest off-season additions has now been promoted into a role that no one on the outside could have seen coming.

Power Play 1 shake up?

According to those who are at Maple Leafs camp, John Klingberg has now been seen working with the top group, with Rielly being pushed down to the second unit, and while it's still early in camp and things could change, this is an interesting development.
Klingberg may not be the overall player that Rielly is, but this would help spread out the talent over their two power play groups, and with Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi and others to help run the second unit, this could end up being one of the deepest groups in all of hockey.
