Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs aren't done tweaking the roster just yet. They could possibly go after Daniel Sprong, who is coming off a season where he had 18 goals and 43 points in 76 games and can aid their depth scoring needs.

If I were the Maple Leafs I'd be all over Daniel Sprong. 39 goals over the past two years despite averaging less than 12 minutes per game. Perhaps no team needs depth scoring more.
The Leafs have focused on bolstering their blueline, where they welcomed Chris Tanev and Stanley Cup champion Oliver Ekman-Larsson to town, but picking up someone like Sprong could help make up for the loss of Tyler Bertuzzi, who signed with the Chicago Blackhawks for 4 years at $5.5 million AAV. At 27 years old, Sprong made $2 million last season. The Leafs don't have that much to spend, so they'll have to convince him to take less for the potential of more.
Daniel Sprong is interesting. Has a ton of offensive tools. I'd like to see him come in on a 1-1.5 million AAV deal for a year and get a chance to play with Nylander & Tavares to see what he can do with 14-16 minutes playing with elite players. Could be a nice weapon for leafs.
We're looking at a low-risk, high reward partnership here so why not pull the trigger if you're the Leafs?
