The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced their roster for Tuesday night's matchup against the Ottawa Senators, which features a number of players returning for a second round of preseason action. Easton Cowan, Nikita Grebenkin, Jacob Quillan, and Matthew Knies played Sunday at Scotiabank Arena and return to the ice in Ottawa.
The Leafs, who have a morning skate Tuesday in Toronto before leaving for the nation's capital, will also take some notable names including Nick Robertson, Bobby McMann, Alex Nylander, David Kampf, Simon Benoit, Conor Timmins, and goalie Anthony Stolarz.
The Leafs ran special teams drills on the morning skate, with Conor Timmins quarterbacking the first power-play unit, flanked by Pontus Holmberg, Robertson, Cowan, and Knies. The second unit included Grebenkin, Nylander, McMann, Nicolas Mattinen, and Alex Steeves.
Line combos are as follows: Kampf centering the top line with Knies and Nylander, Robertson, Holmberg, and McMann making up the second; Cowan and Grebenkin partnering up with Marlies captain Logan Shaw; and Steeves, Quillan, and Roni Hirvonen round out the fourth line.
The top pairing on defense will be Benoit and Timmins, with Mikko Kokkonen, who performed admirably at last year's camp, being a scratch for this game. In goal, it's a shared-out game between Stolarz and Dennis Hildeby.
