According to him, Rielly turned a corner and the situation won't be lingering:
"The one thing that's good is once he gets through this day or two here, it's not going to be a lingering situation. It's not an injury that's going to be ongoing. Once he's past it, he's past it. So we just need to give him some time."
While Rielly's away, other defensemen got valuable experience for the playoffs.
For young players, this is extremely valuable. Going into the playoffs with confidence is key.
With only ten games remaining to the Leafs' season, they aren't in a hurry to send Rielly back on the ice, as he should use this time to get ready for the playoffs, just like Mitch Marner.
