Mitch Marner has been a hot commodity on the trade market this off-season, and while the Leafs haven't been aggressively shopping him, there has been many reports of interested parties. One of those is the Vegas Golden Knights, who are seemingly always aggressive on the trade market as they look to chase their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
On the surface, the second two make complete sense, but to keep Barbashev out of talks for a perennial 100 point player like Marner would be malpractice for Vegas, especially if a deal fell apart through sheer unwillingness to include him in a deal. In the past year, we've seen Vegas trade away some of their top picks and prospects, so it's unclear if they'd even have the pieces necessary to make a deal with Toronto, but if they can put together an offer worthy of an All Star like Mitch Marner, don't be shocked to see talks between these two teams heat up.
