The Vegas Golden Knights have reportedly been interested in Mitch Marner of the Maple Leafs, but if they make a deal, these three names will be off the table.

Mitch Marner has been a hot commodity on the trade market this off-season, and while the Leafs haven't been aggressively shopping him, there has been many reports of interested parties. One of those is the Vegas Golden Knights, who are seemingly always aggressive on the trade market as they look to chase their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
Frank Seravalli speculating that the Vegas Golden Knights might be poking around Mitch Marner.
Now, a recent piece has looked a potential deal between the two parties, revealing the three players that the Golden Knights should make unavailable in trade talks, with those names being Ivan Barbashev, William Karlsson and of course, superstar center Jack Eichel.
On the surface, the second two make complete sense, but to keep Barbashev out of talks for a perennial 100 point player like Marner would be malpractice for Vegas, especially if a deal fell apart through sheer unwillingness to include him in a deal. In the past year, we've seen Vegas trade away some of their top picks and prospects, so it's unclear if they'd even have the pieces necessary to make a deal with Toronto, but if they can put together an offer worthy of an All Star like Mitch Marner, don't be shocked to see talks between these two teams heat up.
