The 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto is shaping up to be a great one, and with so many stars around, it should be a fun time. Unfortunately for two big stars, they won't find themselves present when the February weekend of All-Star festivities rolls around.

While it may have been assumed by now, the NHL have now officially announced that 2023-24 Calder Trophy favourite Connor Bedard and Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights will miss the event.
This comes on the back of major injuries for both, and while they are expected to return sometime this season, it's no doubt a blow for both to not be able to represent their teams on such a stage.

Two huge replacements incoming

In their place will be Kyle Connor of the surprising Winnipeg Jets and Vincent Trochek of the highly regarded New York Rangers.
The @NHL announced that Vincent Trocheck and Kyle Connor have been added to the roster for 2024 #NHLAllStar Weekend replacing injured players Jack Eichel and Connor Bedard.
It would have been great to see Connor Bedard on such a stage, but for now, injury has robbed him of this honour, even though it's likely he'll find himself as an All-Star many times throughout his career. For now though, it's a well-deserved honour for both Kyle Connor and Vincent Trochek, who have been standouts in their own right thus far in 2023-24.
