Chaos Ensues After Connor Timmins Shoves Tanev Into the Boards on Questionable Hit
The Toronto Maple Leafs are entering a critical part of their season. As they have slowly started to fall in the standings, each game is suddenly that much more important. Tonight things got heated as they visited the Seattle Kraken when Connor Timmins shoved Kraken forward Brandon Tanev into the end boards on a questionable play.
Chaos Ensues Following Questionable Hit By Timmins On Tanev
Timmins drew into the lineup tonight as Mark Giordano got the second half of the back-to-back off. This has been a consistent part of Sheldon Keefe's plan for deployment with his oldest player. However, the decision may have backfired as Timmins immediately ushered in a full on line brawl following a hit on Brandon Tanev.

Timmins did get a penalty on the play but several others were handed out as well as Tanev responded by going after the Leafs defenseman. At that point, everyone on the ice grabbed a dancing partner.
Timmins Dirty Play Example Of Reason For Limited Games With Leafs
It seemed as though Timmins hit Tanev just enough to throw him off balance right as he was approaching the boards. This is a very dangerous play in which Tanev could have been seriously injured. It stands to reason why he was so upset then. Meanwhile, this is the exact kind of thing that has kept Timmins in the press box for most of the season.
If Connor Timmins is wondering why he can't get in the lineup regularly, taking a dumb cross checking penalty on your first shift when you're playing for just the second time since December 21 is a big reason why.
