The Buffalo Sabres got a chance to play spooler tonight as they defeated the Capitals 4-2. However, the Capitals were clearly not happy about the result as a line brawl broke out at the conclusion of the game.

Given the nature of the game and what it meant to the players, it is not surprising that there would be fisticuffs in this one. However, few could have predicted the line brawl that broke out at the end of the game. Both teams had their star players on the ice with the likes of Tage Thompson, Tom Wilson, and Max Pacioretty all getting into the fray.

THE CAPS AND SABRES BRAWL AT THE END OF THE GAME 🥊
While the Sabres have already been eliminated, they will pride themselves as having been spoilers for the Capitals should the team fail to make the playoffs this year.
The Caps are still chasing the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. They are just one point back of the Pittsburgh Penguins, who currently hold the second wild card spot. However, the loss tonight will not help their efforts. They now have just three games left in the regular season to get as many points as they possibly can.
