It's always unfortunate to witness an injury like this. Konstantin Komarek, who has spent most of his career playing in Sweden, was forced to exit the SHL prematurely when his wrist was inadvertently slashed by a skate blade. Reports indicate that his tendon was severed.
The incident took place as Komarek, a player for Lulea, was jostling for position against Vaxjo's Martin Lundberg. During the scuffle, Lundberg's leg rose and his skate blade sliced Komarek's wrist. Komarek was given an interference penalty and only realized the extent of his injury on his way to the penalty box.
