The Maple Leafs have been riddled with injuries this season. This has been particularly true for their defensive group. Today the team provided a major update on the status of one of their key defensemen that have been out.

Maple LeafsDefenseman Returns To Practice

Earlier today the Maple Leafs welcomed back veteran defenseman Mark Giordano to practice. Giordano returns to the ice for the first time since sustaining his injury in late November.
With Giordano returning to practice of course everyone is wondering what his timeline to return to game action is. Luckily after the skate Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe was able to provide an update.

Maple Leafs Provide A Massive Update On Giodano

This afternoon Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe spoke to the media following practice. The biggest news item he covered was the return of Mark Giordano. According to Keefe, Giordano likely won't return until after the Christmas break.
Keefe on Giordano's participation in morning skate: "It is encouraging, great to see him out. He has been progressing very well. He won't play before Christmas. The timeline points more toward him being day to day as we return from the Christmas break."
The Maple Leafs will happily welcome back a major part of their team in the next couple of weeks. While Giordano is not the player he used to be he will be a much-needed boost to the depth of the defense once again.
