A frightening incident occurred last night when New Jersey Devils prospect Case McCarthy was taken to the hospital.
McCarthy Rushed To The Hospital
Case McCarthy, an alternate captain for the Boston University Terriers and a fourth-round pick of the New Jersey Devils in 2019, was hospitalized after a terrifying collision into the boards.
McCarthy reportedly sustained a broken collarbone, which will likely put an end to his season. Paired with Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson, McCarthy's injury will be a significant loss for BU as they strive to make a mark in the Hockey East playoffs.
Coach Jay Pandolfo addressed the situation:
It's always scary to see one of your players and teammates go down like that. The good news is, he got up. He's got movement in all of his extremities, so that's good news; he's doing very well.
We hope that McCarthy can fully recover for the next season as he continues his pursuit of an NHL career.
