Former Italian World Junior Championship member, and Italian league defenseman, Michele Basso has unfortunately passed away at the age of 26 after a long battle with a disease.

Basso showcased his immense talent in the Italian league, securing an impressive 23 points in just 21 U20 games. In 2016, he furthered his mark by playing in the premier Italian men's league.
However, a major illness forced Basso to retire prematurely from the sport he loved. Seven years after, the same disease has claimed his life.
