A young Hockey player has tragically passed away at just 19-years-old.

Hockey Player Dies In Tragic Accident

19-year-old Émile Gagné passed away in a collision in Victoriaville, Quebec early Wednesday morning. Gagné was reportedly attempting to bypass another vehicle before colliding with an upcoming vehicle in the process. Two others were injured.
Gagné last played the 2022-23 QJHL season for the Princeville Titan and the Joliette Prédateurs, playing for the latter with his older brother, Tristan.
Gagné was a 13th Round Pick in the 2019 QMJHL Draft by the Shawinigan Cataractes, who sent their condolences to his family.
Gagné's former club, the Trois-Rivieres Estacades, also put out a statement of rememberance for the player.
The large Estacades family is in mourning. Émile Gagné, a former member of our franchise, tragically passed away this morning in a car accident. Our thoughts are with his beautiful and large family. To his parents Richard and Sonia, his brothers and sister Jean-Simon, Julien, Marie-Luc, and Chloé, we offer our most sincere condolences. Watch over your loved ones, Émile.

The CJHL also sent their condolences to Gagné's family, and to Joliette in memoriam.
Gagné had 13 Goals and 26 Points in 43 Games for Princeville and Joilette last season in the QJHL. Gagné played for Trois-Rivieres with Anaheim Ducks prospect Tristan Luneau, who posted a photo of the late Gagné on his Instagram story.
