The Vancouver Canucks have been off to an unbelievable start this year. Their 11-3-1 record puts them 2nd in the Pacific division. Only two teams in the entire league have more points than them. Not everything is about winning though. Tonight one former Canuck reminded us of that.
Horvat Visits Vancouver For First Time As Visiting Team Member
Tonight was the first time Horvat has been to Vancouver since he was traded to the New York Islanders last season. The trade occurred after the Islanders had already visited last season. During the pregame ceremony Horvat broke down as Canucks fans honored their last captain.
The Canucks honored Horvat by showing a highlight reel of his best moments in Vancouver on the jumbotron before the game started.
Horvat was drafted 9th overall by the Canucks in 2013. He played 621 games for the Canucks, putting up 201 goals and 420 points with the team in that span. He served as the team's captain for four years from 2019-20 until he was traded last season.
