Evgeny Kuznetsov's future has been a major talking point in recent times, and now the veteran has officially confirmed his move to the KHL.

Following a somewhat disappointing NHL season for veteran Evgeny Kuznetsov, where he played in both Washington and Carolina, reports of his future emerged, revealing a return to the KHL. Now, SKA St. Petersburg have officially announced his return to Europe on a four-year deal.
The move itself isn't surprising, but the money certainly is, as Kuznetsov was set to earn almost $16 million on his NHL contract, but now, he will head to the KHL to earn almost $14 million less over the length of his deal.
"SKA will make a very nice move, which is sometimes practiced in the NHL - for example, Sidney Crosby signed a contract with an average salary of $8.7 million per year in honor of the fact that he plays under number 87. Evgeny Kuznetsov will receive a four-year contract in St. Petersburg, the average salary of which will be 92 million rubles."
Unsurprisingly, anticipation and hype are sky rocketing in the KHL over Kuznetsov's return, and at 36-years of age, it may be the final hockey contract of his impressive career. Only time will tell whether that's true, but Kuznetsov appeared to be motivated to return to Europe this off-season, and now we will wait and see how the deal plays out for the Stanley Cup Champion.
