Jaromir Jagr has torn his hamstring and admitted he was over-exerting himself during training and will now miss six or more weeks of game action.

Jaromir Jagr's ambition to play every game this season with Rytiri Kladno may be in jeopardy after suffering a hamstring injury. On Thursday, he shared on Instagram that he has torn his hamstring, potentially sidelining him for up to six weeks.
"I have something to tell you. I know you're asking why I'm not playing in any pre-season games. Unfortunately, I was injured. I know that you supported me a lot and because of you I will not give up and I am training anyway. Back as soon as possible. Thank you for your support."

As per the Czech website Hokej.cz, Jagr went on to say the following in his video:
"When I talked to the physiotherapist Pavel Kolář about the fact that I would like to properly train, he warned me not to do anything that my body is not used to.

Of course, I didn't listen to him... I went for a run. Not the sprints I used to do uphill, but normally straight. But I put weights on my ankles and tore my hamstring.

That was about five days ago. Pavel said it would be three to six weeks. We'll see how it heals.

The worst part is that I'm mad at myself. I was preparing, I dropped a lot (of weight) and felt pretty good on the ice. Now it has stopped again, so I'll have to start from the beginning.

But I'm not one to screw it up when I've put so much into it. The very next day I went to do things that didn't hurt. However, skating is very important and I won't be on the ice for three to six weeks. Maybe it won't be that long, we'll see. When I walk, it doesn't hurt.

I'm curious what Pavel will say to me when we meet again."

If Jaromir Jagr is out for the amount of time it is believed he will be injured, he could return by September 8. A full six-week recovery would push his return to September 29. This timeline means Jagr might miss Kladno's much-anticipated season opener against Dynamo Pardubice on September 18, a game that would have seen him face off against his friend and former Avangard Omsk teammate, Roman Cervenka.
Despite still playing at the age of 52, Jaromir Jagr has seen limited action in recent seasons for Kladno, which is also the team he co-owns. This spring, he became the oldest player ever to score a goal and record a point in a major professional ice hockey league. Just last month, he spoke about the intense training program he's been following in what many believe will be his final season, expressing his determination to participate in most, if not all, of Kladno's games.
Unfortunately for Jagr, it doesn't appear he will be able to live up to his goal of playing in every single one of his team's games this season. We wish him a speedy recovery.
