The Battle of the Duos could be an official title we can attribute to the raging debate between fan bases of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers.

We're talking about the Leafs' Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, and the Oilers' dynamic pairing of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
The impassioned discourse among fans, each side ardently supporting their team, is a spectacle in itself.
The recent installment of TSN's The Leafs Lunch brought this discussion into the spotlight. The hosts, Frank Corrado and Mike Johnson, dissected the performances of both pairs during this playoff season.
Mike Johnson had some things to say that may seriously update Leafs fans:
"Maybe the reality is, at this time of year, they're not as good as Draisaitl and McDavid"

This one won't sit well with Leafs fans.
Without a doubt, the podcast host brings his statements forward basing them on the fact that the Oilers are still in a competitive race against Las Vegas, while the Leafs' chances are as slim as they can get, trailing the Panthers 3-0, and being on the brink of elimination.
Toronto's potential elimination game takes place on Wednesday night. Maybe we'll see Matthews and Marner break out after all?
