A new report this evening has confirmed that a trade has been agreed to between the Minnesota Wild and Pittsburgh Penguins. The trade reportedly will give the Minnesota Wild more depth in a position of need.

Minnesota Wild And Pittsburgh Penguins Agree To A Trade

A report by Michael Russo who covers the Minnesota Wild for The Athletic has indicated the Wild and Pittsburgh Penguins have struck a deal. According to Russo, the trade will send defenseman Will Butcher to Minnesota.
Hearing the #mnwild have acquired Penguins defenseman Will Butcher. Likely will start in Iowa but gives Minnesota more depth.
In return, the Pittsburgh Penguins will get forward prospect Maxim Cajkovic who was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Penguins have acquired forward Maxim Cajkovic from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Will Butcher.

Cajkovic is signed through the 2023.24 season and his contract carries an average annual value of $925,000 at the NHL level.
Both Butcher and Cajkovic have spent most of their time in the minor leagues this season. This will provide a fresh start for both players going forward with their new teams.
