As the NHL Draft gets closer, everyone in the hockey community is eagerly waiting to see the trade rumors that will keep us interested until June 28.

Some rumors seem believable, while others are like something out of a fantasy story. Nevertheless, it's always fun to hear about them.

Marner in Montreal?

According to a report by Cédrick Gervais on Marqueur.com, there's an interesting trade proposal circulating on Twitter from Hockey Night in Montreal. The trade involves the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs and seems a bit ridiculous.
Here's the proposal:
Montreal receives:
-Mitch Marner
Toronto receives:
-Panthers' first-round pick (either 31st or 32nd)
-Flames' first-round pick in the following year
-Canadiens' second-round pick (37th)
-Josh Anderson
-Jordan Harris
-Joel Edmundson
Montreal would need to send a big package in order to land Marner!
This raises the question of how the Leafs' new GM, Brad Treliving, will deal with his Core Four, including Mitch Marner, John Tavares, William Nylander, and Auston Matthews.
With both Tavares and Marner set to be unrestricted free agents next summer, and just two years left on their current contracts, Treliving finds himself in a hot seat. As the next contract negotiations roll around, Matthews, Marner, and Nylander could well demand a bump in their salaries.
Would you like to see Mitch Marner in Montreal?
