The Pittsburgh Penguins are at a decision point for their franchise. New GM Kyle Dubas needs to decide whether he thinks the Penguins can turn it around this year, or if he should sell off some of his assets for more of a long-term rebuild.
Guentzel is in the last year of his deal currently paying him a $6 million AAV. With a pay raise due in his future, Dubas will have to decide if he wants to make the cap situation work and try and run it back with the current roster, or free up some space and get future assets to reshape the roster.
