A massive rumour is surfacing that the Calgary Flames are placing this former 40-goal scorer on the trade block as they look to reform their roster.
Flames Rumoured to Place Lindholm on the Trade Block Ahead of Holidays
With the holiday trade freeze taking effect on the 19th, teams won't be making any trades until at least December 28th. That won't stop teams like the Calgary Flames from shopping their stars, though, during that time.
A new rumour has surfaced that the Flames are shopping star centerman Elias Lindholm as they look to turn to a full rebuild.
[LeBrun] explicitly names three squads as likely landing spots – the Bruins, Avalanche and Hurricanes – with the Bruins confirmed to «have some level of interest» based on his reporting.
The Flames would be looking for a big return for Lindholm, as he would be a potential top-6 in any spot that he lands.
Flames' Struggles Are Indicative of the Need for Rebuild
The Calgary Flames are struggling this season, undoubtedly. As their season trudges on, it's clear they are setting themselves up for a rebuild, as they have already traded Nikita Zadorov, and are shopping several of their other top defensive players.
It's clear that the future will be dim in Calgary for the near-term future.
