The Boston Bruins have been one of the best teams in the NHL this season. That being said, the team lacks center depth after Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci both retired last offseason. Now the team could be on the verge of acquiring a center via trade.
Bruins Looking To Add Center In Trade With Montreal Canadiens
The team has been involved in trade rumors involving centers all season. Now, Eklund of Hockeybuzz.com is reporting that discussions between the Bruins and Canadiens regarding Sean Monahan have picked up in recent weeks.
There is something to this one. Others are reporting as well, but the Boston Bruins have had serious, albeit preliminary talk, with the Montréal Canadiens regarding Sean Monahan.yes, the two most hated rivals in the sport discussing a trade. Is nothing sacred?
However, Eklund is also reporting that Monahan's trade value is lower than it would otherwise be, given his health issues he has dealt with this season.
Unfortunately for Montreal, Sean's on-and-off health issues have played a part in the price tag being much lower than it should be given the unquestionable skill set. The Kings, Panthers, Red Wings, and Devils are all also keeping close tabs.
NHL insiders have reported that Monahan is one of the first players expected to come off the board at the trade deadline. This makes sense from the Canadine's perspective considering his health issues.

It has also been reported recently that the Canadiens are asking for a 1st round pick, or a second round pick and a prospect in return for the veteran center. Only time will tell if they are able to get this value for him.
