A new rumor has been leaked that has linked a top-end goal scorer to the Montreal Canadiens. The player has been rumored to be looking for a change of scenery and Montreal could be the perfect fit.
Prolific Goal Scorer On His Way To The Montreal Canadiens?
A new rumor provided by NHLTradeRumor.com has suggested that the Montreal Canadiens could be targeting Vancouver Canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko. In recent months Kuzmenko has been rumored to be unhappy in Vancouver. Below are the suggested trade details that the rumors have provided.
To Vancouver: Sean Monahan, Jonathan Kovacevic, and a 2025 2nd-round pick
To Montreal: Andrei Kuzmenko, Nils Hoglander, and a 2024 3rd-round pick
The trade would see veteran Sean Monahan head back out west this time to the Vancouver Canucks. A couple of big-time prospects would also swap places in Jonathan Kovacevic and Nils Hoglander.
Can The Canadiens Get Kuzmenko Back To His Game?
The Vancouver Canucks have reportedly been quite upset with the play of Andrei Kuzmenko. One season after his 39-goal campaign fans, coaches, and management want him out.
In 31 games this season Kuzmenko has just 8 goals and 11 assists. His is projected for a steep drop off to 47 points. If the Montreal Canadiens believe they can unlock Kuzmenko's offense again this could be a good risk worth taking.
For the Vancouver Canucks they would add a depth center in Sean Monahan with playoff experience. They also round out their defensive prospect pool with young defenseman Jonathan Kovacevic.
