A trade is about to be finalized any moment that will see Winnipeg Jets Rutger McGroarty traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has just broken the news on social media X that disgruntled Winnipeg Jets forward Rutger McGroarty is about to be traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Rutger McGroarty was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft with the 14th overall pick. He has never played an NHL game yet, which is the reason he recently demanded a trade over the summer, as he wanted to be with a team who was going to give him a shot in the NHL. It appears the Penguins will be that team.
