The Utah Hockey Club acquired two top defensemen on the trade market during the second round of the 2024 draft!

In breaking news, Utah completed two trades: one with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and one with the New Jersey Devils.
They traded J.J. Moser, Conor Geekie, a 2025 2nd round pick and a 2024 7th round pick to get Mikhail Sergachev.
From Frank Seravalli:
"Trade details:

To #UtahHC: D Mikhail Sergachev

To #GoBolts: D JJ Moser, C Conor Geekie, 2025 2nd Rd Pick, 2024 7th Rd Pick (No. 199 overall)

No salary retained. Tampa clears $8.5 million off the books, well more than enough to keep Steven Stamkos if desired."
A few minutes later, they completed a trade with the Devils, sending the 49th pick and the Oilers' 2nd round pick in 2025 for John Marino and the 153rd pick.
"TRADE: Utah Hockey Club trades Pick #49 and EDM's 2nd round pick in 2025 to the #NJDevils for John Marino and Pick #153"
More to come.
