Now that Martin Necas has officially signed a contract extension with the Carolina Hurricanes, the Winnipeg Jets trade offer for him has been made public.

There was a time just a few weeks ago that the Winnipeg Jets came very close to acquiring Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas via trade. Now that Necas has officially signed a contract extension with the Hurricanes, the details of what the Jets had offered have been revealed.
It now appears that Winnipeg was going to send disgruntled forward Rutger McGroarty, Cole Perfetti, and a draft pick to Carolina for the one and only Marty Necas.

The Buffalo Sabres also came very close to trading for Necas, however Necas said he would not sign any extension with the Sabres as he did not want to play in that city, so that deal was off the table.
The Buffalo #Sabres reportedly had an offer on the table for Martin Necas that may have been accepted, but Necas informed the Sabres he wasn't interested in re-signing in Buffalo. Per, Frank Seravalli.

Martin Necas has spent his entire career with the Hurricanes so far, and is 3 goals shy of 100, having scored 97 in his career along with 146 assists in 362 NHL games.
Rutger McGroarty on the other hand, has yet to play an NHL game and is still looking for his big break, however his attitude issues could be a major factor at play here.
