It has been reported that this Canadian team is in talks for a potential trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and it is rumoured to be a multi-player deal.

Penguins and Canucks Reportedly in Talks for Potential Blockbuster Trade

According to NHL insider Eklund of Hockeybuzz, the Pittsburgh Penguins are in talks with the Vancouver Canucks for a trade, specifically looking at Conor Garland. The trade is rumoured to potentially be a multi-player deal, however, there are limited details on what the Canucks are looking for in return.
All I know at this point; the Penguins REALLY like Conor Garland....Both teams could use some help on the D-end, which I admit makes them appear to be odd trade partners.. however, I am supposed to get some clarity as to what the Canucks want by mid-afternoon....

As Eklund points out, the two teams are funny trade partners, since they should be looking for similar assets on the back end. However, the potential trade could include some defensive assets as well.

Penguins Looking to Trade With Canucks for Potential Cup Run

The Penguins are looking to turn things around after disappointingly missing the playoffs last year. With a new GM at the helm in Kyle Dubas and some flashy acquisitions this offseason in Erik Karlsson, the team is building up for one last cup run in the Crosby-Malkin era.
However, their start hasn't been as impressive as they'd hoped. With a razor-thin Metro Division point race, the Pens' meagre 5-6 record puts them in last place. It wouldn't be surprising to see Kyle Dubas pull some strings to get another big trade under his belt.
