The Anaheim Ducks young core has been an exciting group over the past year or two, with plenty more young names being added, but now, it appears as though one of those names could now be traded.
According to a recent report, the Buffalo Sabres are considered a front-runner to land Zegras, as contract talks between the two sides have seemingly gone nowhere this summer.

The Ducks are being choosy [with Zegras]? They want to break it? I heard there's a team looking that way and it's the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabers have to make the playoffs this year and you solve your problem by bringing Zegras.
While it's unclear just how willing Anaheim are to make a deal, if they're not looking to genuinely extend the 22-year old, then a trade to land some future assets, especially from a team with plenty of them would make perfect sense.
A controversial young star
Despite seemingly being a positive influence on young hockey fans, Zegras has been met with plenty of backlash, as many veterans don't like the way he goes about it on the ice, and now, that could catch up with him at contract time.
However, he's still just 22 years of age, and with three years experience and a 23 goal, 65 point season under his belt, he has plenty of value, and it appears the Sabres and other teams around the league recognize that.
