NHL insider Frank Serravalli reported yesterday that the Arizona Coyotes were not paying their hotel bills earlier in the season. This news comes just after reports surfaced that the team would likely be relocating to Utah next season.

The Coyotes have a history of pulling things like this in the past. They have worn out their welcome in multiple building due to issues paying rent on time. Similarly, the organization was caught up in a draft scandal that saw the team lose draft picks as punishment. As such, it does not come as much of a surprise that something like this might be real.

The news lived up to the old saying, "when it rains it pours." The Coyotes have certainly had a tough week as it was just reported two days ago that the team would very likely be relocated to Salt Lake City Utah next season.
UPDATED story on @DailyFaceoff from @frank_seravalli:

The NHL and #Yotes are working on an agreement to sell the franchise and relocate it to Salt Lake City.
The news comes as a massive blow to fans of the sport in the desert. After all, without the Coyotes, we likely would not have Auston Matthews, as he grew up in the Phoenix area. With the Coyotes end apparently in sight, it hard to imagine how the sport might miss out on the next Auston Matthews. Fellow Leaf and Arizona native Matthew Knies also got into hockey thanks to the Coyotes, proving that players can make the NHL even if they come from unusual backgrounds.
Arizona-born Matthew Knies shares his thoughts on the Coyotes' possible relocation to Utah.
Hopefully, the NHL will return to Arizona and establish a new team properly so that they can find consistent success at the NHL level without having to worry about where they're going to play.
