Hockey, whether we like it or not, is a sport that has a high likelihood of physical altercations, and these occurrences are particularly rampant as the playoffs loom near. In the AHL, one player was forced to exit the rink after engaging in a violent altercation that left him with visible injuries.
During the game, McLaughlin was involved in a physical altercation with another player, and as a result, he was subjected to multiple forceful blows to his head. The impact of these punches left him visibly disoriented and struggling to regain his bearings on the ice.
After reaching McLaughlin, the medical staff discovered that he was covered in blood and unable to fully comprehend his surroundings. The severity of McLaughlin's injury has yet to be fully determined, but it is suspected to be a severe head injury. We can only hope that McLaughlin will be able to recover fully from this traumatic experience.
