Patrice Bergeron's retirement came as a surprise to many fans. After a record breaking season and a dissapointing elimination at the first round of the playoffs by the Florida Panthers, Bergeron decided to hang up his skates, marking the end of an era in Boston.

A new development, made by Brad Marchand, suggests that this infamous era could continue this year.

The Boston Bruins are once again performing at a high level this season. They are currently sitting at the top of the Atlantic Division, and they'll make the playoffs unless something major gets in the way.
Marchand's even hoping that they'll get help. He's been trying to bring Bergeron back in the team for a while now.
As reported by TVA Sports:
The Boston Bruins are doing very well without Patrice Bergeron, but Brad Marchand would like to see his old accomplice back on the ice:

"Bergy [Bergeron], I think he's annoyed by how many times I push him to come back to the game. He is excited about what's coming."

The strong friendship between Marchand and Bergeron could entice the former captain to come back. If that happens, Marchand would finally be the fans' hero.
If he's responsible for Bergeron's comeback, we bet that many hockey fans would stop hating him.
Do you think Bergeron will step out of retirement this season?
