Flames GM Craig Conroy has discussed the status of Nikita Zadorov, days after the defenseman requested a trade from the team. Zadorov's agent Dan Milstein of Gold Star Hockey first revealed that it was "unlikely" Zadorov would remain with the Flames due to a lack of ice time.
Flames GM Craig Conroy shared his thoughts on the matter, saying he is focused on the team's performance, including Zadorov's game, but is speaking to him about his future, but not forcing a deal if the timing or return isn't right.
Zadorov, 28, has a goal and 6 Points in 17 Games for Calgary this season, but with only 18:14 TOI, 5th among Flames defensemen, last among Flames D with at least 10GP. Zadorov is in the final year of a two-year contract at $3.75M AAV.
