After they played a shootout thriller last week, the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs became officially linked in trade talks, and ever since, it's felt like only a matter of time until a deal came to fruition.
The Maple Leafs have several intriguing prospects for Calgary to target, and now, a deal has been leaked that would send Abruzzese (a former Matt Coronato teammate), Holmbgerg, Klingberg and two picks, including Toronto's 2024 first-round pick for the pair at 50% retained.
The Maple Leafs have been in Sweden for the past weeks, so talks seemingly halted, but when they return, talks are expected to ramp up once more, and it looks like it's only a matter of time until this deal comes to fruition.
