According to David Pagnotta, the Hurricanes are looking to make a «hockey trade» and are not just looking for future picks or prospects. Among the teams with interest are the Montreal Canadiens, Seattle Kraken, and the Nashville Predators.
Necas is in need of a new contract, and will see a pay raise from the $3 million dollars he was making in 2023-2024. The Czech forward posted 53 points in 77 games, a step back from his 71 point campaign the season prior.
Despite the lowered production, Necas will be looking for $6-7 million dollars per season on a max term deal, a potential steal if he performs consistently throughout the deal.
With the NHL draft looming, it is only a matter of time before the Hurricanes make a trade, but who will the trade be with? Only time will tell.
