The Chicago Blackhawks know they got a good one in Connor Bedard, but just how far are they going to push him in his rookie season?

A massive new role

Despite being drafted just a few months ago, it appears that the 18-year old Bedard is in line to be the next captain of the Chicago Blackhawks.
We know he's talented, but he is still adjusting to life in the NHL, so just what are the pros and cons of making your future superstar your leader this early?

Pros and Cons

On one hand, Bedard is the future of your organization, whom success or failure will seemingly lay at every turn, and with no veterans locked in for a lengthy amount of time, this makes the most sense. Also, Connor McDavid was given the captaincy at just 18-years of age, and it's worked out pretty well for them, but in a big market like Chicago, is it rushing him?
Former Canucks coach Bruce Boudreau seemingly agrees that this would be a bad idea, suggesting it puts extra, unnecessary pressure on the young star, but at the end of the day, he's their future and already the face of the franchise, so no one could blame them for making him the captain already.
