The NHL world has today learned of the tragic passing of former NHL veteran Chris Simon at the age of 52.

Chris Simon tragically passes away at age 52

Simon played in the NHL from 1993 to 2008 with New York, Colorado, Chicago, Washington, Quebec, Minnesota and Calgary before tragically passing at the age of 52.
I regret to inform you that NHL alumnus Chris Simon has passed away at the age of 52.

Simon played 782 games in the NHL from 1993-2008 with Quebec, Colorado, Washington, Chicago, New York (R), New York (I), Calgary, and Minnesota, registering 144 goals and 305 points in that span.

He was a one-time Stanley Cup Champion (1996).

Over his tenure in the league, he tallied 305 points in 782 games, being known as one of the most physical players in the game throughout his time. He would win a Stanley Cup in 1996 with the Colorado Avalanche, and today we send out thoughts and prayers to Simon, his family and loved ones.
