Despite early denials of these actions, this report confirms everything we heard and more, and at this point, it's hard to blame Columbus for making the move that they made.
A new era in Columbus
With a young core led by No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft Adam Fantilli, it makes sense for the team to look to a younger coach, especially after hiring one with such a reputation.
It was the best move for the present and the future of the Blue Jackets organization, and now, it may signal the end of the Mike Babcock era in the NHL, as he just couldn't adjust to today's climate.
