The NHL's final night of preseason hockey was on Saturday, October 7. The two Central division rival's Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild, played their final game before the start of the regular season.

In a low-scoring contest that featured 60 minutes of penalties given out, including 17 minutes each for Mason Marchment and Brad Duhaime, on top of the five minutes each for fighting between Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon. The Wild won the game 4-0.

A feisty game

Ryan Hartman and Jamie Benn each received penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct early in the first, which ignited the hostilities between the two teams. The game spiralled out of control after many hits and chirps following the fourth Wild score. Mason Marchment and Brad Duhaime engaged in combat after Benn and Maroon had five minutes in the box, respectively.
The referees made the decision to remove both Marchment and Duhaime from the game in order to settle the situation. The game came to a close without any additional majors, despite the fact that it was still heated.

The Big Fight

As dialogue took place during the game, the action grew more heated. Jamie Benn and Pat Maroon lined up at centre and had a big boy bought when Minnesota scored to make it 4-0.
The fight was quite evenly matched, but the wise bet would be on supporters of either club saying their guy won. Just five minutes were given to each player for fighting.
