Now, it appears things are heading off the rails. During last night's Oilers game, head coach Jay Woodcroft was tossed for seemingly asking a simple question to the referee.

While the video looks like Woodcroft said something bad and immediately was ejected for it, after the game Woodcroft was adamant that all he did was ask a question to the refs.
"I asked about the play on [Dylan] Holloway, and you know, it wasn't profanity laced or anything. it was a question. It wasn't well received when i asked the question, and in the end I got to be better. I can't take a penalty to put our team down. I didn't think it crossed the line at all, but it's sometimes the way you send a message, or ask a question, the way it's received might be not in the manner you intend it to.

Woodcroft Likely on the Verge Of Being Fired After Slow Start to the Season
It would make sense if Woodcroft was frustrated and took his anger out on the refs. It is likely that his job is hanging on by a thread now after one of the worst starts of the year is putting the Oilers in a significant hole.
After dropping to 2-8-1 to begin the season, the Oilers will basically need to match last seasons pace of 109-points just to get to 100 points.
