Fighting in hockey has become a bit more controversial and certainly less common over the years as we learn more about its long-term health impacts on players. That didn't stop Brandon Duhaime and Will Lockwood from unleashing a dramatic tilt tonight though.
Duhaime Knocks Out Lockwood In Epic Old-School Fight
The Wild winger got the best of Lockwood as he connected with a serious right jab that appeared to knock out the Panthers forward based on the way he fell. Luckily, he wasn't down for long and he appeared to be okay as the fight ended with the linesmen stepping in at that point.
Lockwood held his own though as he managed to get a few of his own punches off. There is no denying though that Duhaime was the victor in this fight.
Fleury Exits Game Against Panthers Early
The Wild have been incredibly inconsistent this season. The currently lead the Panthers 5-2 late in the game which is especially impressive considering they are coming off a 7-0 spanking from the Tampa Bay Lightning yesterday. Unfortunately for the team, their beloved goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury ended up leaving the game early with an injury and did not return to the bench.
Fleury is one of the team's top trade assets as they are looking more and more likely to be sellers at the trade deadline. With the goalie market so thin, the team could get good value for him should he return from this injury in time. Luckily, it seems as though the injury is not that serious and the team is taking precautionary measures. Stay tuned for updates on his status.
