Mock Trade Would have Marc-Andre Fleury Returning to his Hometown
Marc-Andre Fleury's name stands tall amongst the greatest goaltenders in recent memory.
His stats are more than impressive. During his exceptional career, he has accomplished 544 wins, suffered 315 losses, and recorded 91 OT losses in a total of 986 games.
His prowess was on display when playing for teams such as the Penguins, Golden Knights, Blackhawks, and Wild, and he also clinched three Stanley Cups along with a Vezina Trophy.
Fleury is in the final year of his contract with the Minnesota Wild. Despite his age of 38 years old, the rumor mill is buzzing with the possibility of his retirement after the conclusion of this season.

There is also speculation that Fleury might be interested in spending his swansong season playing in his homeland, with the Montreal Canadiens.
Is Fleury Headed to Montreal?
Here's a speculative proposition:
This could be a game-changer. In this potential trade, the Canadiens would be compelled to part with one of their goalie prospects, who has underperformed in recent years, along with Josh Anderson, who is highly sought-after in the NHL.
In return, they would acquire Marc-Andre Fleury for a year, the 1st round pick in the 2024 draft, and a promising prospect, Caeden Bankier.
However, it remains uncertain whether the Canadiens would be willing to trade Anderson for just one year of Fleury, particularly in the midst of their ongoing rebuild.
Moreover, given Fleury's decision to sign with Minnesota, it's probable that he might want to stay. However, if he decides to extend his career beyond the current contract, Montreal could be a very plausible next step for him.
