Predators forward Tommy Novak recently broke one of hockey's unwritten rules and had to face the consequences.
Novak Shoots the Puck in the Net After the Whistle and Suffers the Consequences
In a game between the Washington Capitals and the Nashville Predators last night, the Predators held a 3-1 lead late into the third period and were making a push to score a fourth goal. However, as the game clock ran out, forward Tommy Novak attempted to sneak a goal into the net after the buzzer had sounded. This action infuriated the Capitals, who decided to retaliate.
At the end of Preds vs Caps, Nick Jensen slewfooted/tripped Tommy Novak just as time expired. Retaliation for Novak sending the puck into the Washington net.
Seems like Novak is fine, but retaliating like this with zeroes on the clock should never be ok in this league.
While Novak did broke an unwritten rule, Jensen's slew-foot was undeniably dangerous and had the potential to seriously injure Novak.
