Cory Schneider announced that he's retiring from professional hockey.
"Cory Schneider retires from professional hockey"
Schneider commented:
"I'm at peace with it. I'll miss my teammates and the intensity of playing, but it's the right time for me. If you had told me as a Marblehead High freshman that I'd play 16 years of professional hockey, I would've laughed in your face."

Schneider, 37, played 410 games for the Canucks, the Devils, and the Islanders. He had a 171-159-58 record with 26 career shutouts, a 2.43 goals against average, and a .918 save percentage.
We wish him the best going into retirement!
