In breaking news, this NHL player has been reportedly suspended for gambling, breaking a rule that the league takes very seriously.

Pinto Suspended for Gambling

Pierre LeBrun has reported today that the Ottawa Senators' Shane Pinto has been suspended for activities related to sports gambling. Pinto has been suspended indefinitely.
Further to @DarrenDreger, I am told via a source that the suspension to Pinto is for activities related to sports wagering

This suspension is the first of its kind in the NHL, a league that has embraced sports gambling via adds. Obvioulsy, it takes players engaging in the activity very seriously as this is a line that can't be crossed.
Sources say the #NHL suspension for #Sens RFA Shane Pinto is for sports betting related activity, which would make it the first suspension for sports gambling in league history.

We will await for the official announcement from the league regarding the suspension.
