The Philadelphia Flyers are still in their rebuild phase, and as such have started the 2023-24 season slow, and now, whatever chances of a playoff push they had have taken a massive hit.
A standout young star
In their latest matchup against the Buffalo Sabres, the Flyers saw star goaltender Carter Hart leave the game with what's being described as a mid-body injury.
Sounds like @NHLFlyers goalie Carter Hart is going to miss time with his mid-body injury. How much time, is still unsure. The team is hopeful it's closer to 2-3 weeks than 4–6 weeks. Expect the team to call up Cal Petersen to join Sam Ersson on the roster.
Now, it appears Hart will be missing several weeks, with some reporters claiming the team are hoping for 2-3, but it could be anywhere up to six weeks until he returns.
A great start to the season
Unsurprisingly, Hart is off to a great start this year, with a 4-3-0 record in eight games played with a 2.52 GAA and a .913 save percentage, in a season in which many believe he'll be traded at some point.
The 25-year old has been stellar since joining the NHL, but given the teams struggles, his numbers have dipped in recent years, and now, they'll be hoping he can get back and either lead this rebuild or help the team land some more assets going forward.
